I can’t help but feel so honoured to be able to connect with so many brothers and sisters who reached out to me, not just donated to the cause. The stories that were shared with me and the people I connected with made this campaign so fulfilling and meaningful, especially knowing that several hundred people would benefit from each well we donated also.
Not long after starting the campaign, I was contacted by sister Albina who I had the privilege of sharing her story with my readers. (Read more here.) If you have previously read about sister Albina, you would have come to know that I gifted her a family photoshoot by Premillume Photography. I have been given the opportunity again to share a part of sister Albina’s life with you, my readers. I hope you like the images just as much as I do. You can see the sheer happiness and joy brought back into their lives with the arrival of Sumeja.

I’ve been taught and have always believed that giving is receiving. Fulfillment of the heart is not only from the happiness and joy you create from achieving your own goals, obtaining opportunities or gaining success. It is also sharing a small bit of love to gain something bigger in return. This ‘something’ is the only thing that can fill the void in one’s heart. It’s the feeling of complete satisfaction for helping or making another happy and is part of why charity is so important in Islam. Charity serves a way to bring justice, balance and kindness to every society and community. If we go out of our way to give a bit to help others, the world would be a better place. Do keep an eye out next Ramadhan for my next water well project.
