A few weeks ago, I booked this cute little café for Mother’s Day breakfast to celebrate not only Mother’s Day but my birthday which landed on the same date. If you haven’t yet read my previous post (you can read more here), I have a bit of trivia for you. I was born on my Dad’s birthday which is the exact same date, month and year as my father in law’s birthdate. How crazy is that huh?
Back to the café though… When you walk into a café and it gives you that cosy, welcoming feel, you know it is a café filled with love. The cute layout of this café is particular to stationery and it has such lovely details throughout. The white splashed wall against the colourful pieces on the shelves works so well, it is my kind of escape. You know the owners and the designer gave good thought into the interior design of this place, as it is just so pretty. But enough of the physical features of the café, the main question is, “Is the food good?” The simple answer to that is, “It is not just good, it is amazing!” In all honesty, if my husband says it’s good, it’s pretty damn good.
We both ordered the Vegetarian full breakfast with poached eggs. The poached eggs were cooked to perfection, runny in the middle just how it is supposed to be. The beans were soft, textured and the tomato-ey flavour was exquisite. Each part of the dish had it’s own flavour and when put together, it was a party in our mouths!
For the kids, I ordered the Ricotta pancake served with whipped cream, fresh strawberries and Nutella. This of course was at girlfriend A’s request, she had to have pancakes that morning regardless. Surprisingly lil man R finished his whole serve without even struggling. It was that good! I took a few bites of their pancakes. The pancakes itself are so fluffy and light without recognising there is any hint of Ricotta in them. The Nutella, strawberries and whipped cream balanced out the dish nicely. I was quite happy that the strawberries were actually sweet as well.
By the time we had finished our meals, we were quite full to the brim. However, you cannot go to Davvero Caffé without trying their amazing croissants! Especially their Nutella filled croissant, it is to die for! I have never tasted a croissant so fresh, so light, the type that melts in your mouth and makes you salivate. Then, then! You mixed that with the Nutella filling, with a bit oozing out for good measure and you will find that you will go back JUST for the croissant. We took away the croissants and they were in our bellies quicker than I could snap a picture of them.
If you haven’t yet checked out this café, go visit Davvero Caffé at Floreat Forum Shopping Centre. The staff are so welcoming, you well and truly feel like you are part of their family with the amazing service that is provided. They are located outside in the open area and are open Monday – Wednesday between 8am – 3.30pm and Thursday – Saturday between 8am – 10.30pm.
